Nurturing Care and learning Skills Training Program

Tah Takuchi Nurturing Care and Learning Skills/ Training Program at is designed to empower women, caregivers, families and early childhood educators with contemporary knowledge and practical skills to support the holistic development of young children during the most critical years of life — from birth to age six.

Rooted in the principles of holistic development of children, the program enables participants to learn and practice nurturing care and early learning strategies that are relevant and adaptable to today’s rapidly changing world, including the age of artificial intelligence (AI). It emphasizes the importance of responsive caregiving, play-based learning, and creating safe, secure, and stimulating environments for children from birth to six years of age. Following are the key learning areas of training:

  • Exploring and understanding the science of ECD: Participants gain a clear understanding of children’s developmental milestones—physical, cognitive, emotional, and social—and how to support growth from pregnancy through age six, using both traditional practices and modern tools.
  • Responsive and Respectful Caregiving: The training focuses on developing nurturing relationships through responsive care, active listening, emotional support, and positive reinforcement, all tailored to the child’s individual needs.
  • Creating Learning-Rich Environments at Home and Pre-School: Learning Facilitators and caregivers learn how to use everyday materials and home routines to set up safe, engaging spaces that foster curiosity, language development, problem-solving, and creativity. Guidance is also provided on introducing age-appropriate digital tools and resources for early learning in a mindful and balanced way.
  • Health, Nutrition, and Hygiene Education: The program covers essential aspects of maternal and child health, including nutrition, hygiene, disease prevention, and the importance of physical activity and rest. Participants also explore how digital apps and tools can support tracking and managing child health and development.
  • Early Learning and Play Techniques: Women and families are trained in simple, low-cost, play-based learning strategies—such as storytelling, sensory activities, basic numeracy and literacy—integrated with both hands-on and digital learning experiences that can be used at home or in preschool settings.
  • Positive Parenting and Discipline Strategies: This component equips caregivers with non-violent discipline methods, emotional regulation techniques, and ways to build respectful, loving, and cooperative parent-child relationships in the digital age, including managing screen time.
  • Women’s Wellbeing and Empowerment: The program prioritizes the emotional and mental wellbeing of women by offering sessions on self-care, stress management, and building strong peer and community support networks. It also explores how AI and digital tools can support women’s personal development, financial empowerment, and access to lifelong learning opportunities.

This training program reflects Tah Takuchi ECD’s commitment to inclusive, culturally sensitive, and future-ready early childhood care. By equipping women and families with relevant, evidence-based knowledge and tools—including the thoughtful integration of AI and technology—it strengthens the foundation for healthier children, more confident caregivers, and more resilient communities.
